Character Name: Adderfoot
Character Age: 20 moons
Gender: Male
Desired Character Clan: Skyclan
Desired Position: Medicine cat
Short Character Description: A light brown tabby with yellow eyes, downright tiny.
Character Description:
Adderfoot is not particularly noticeable when it comes to pelt color and such. He's a mackerel tabby, light brown with thin stripes, and has white on his jaw. He has yellow eyes. There is little else notable about him besides his size. This cat has been mistaken for an apprentice multiple times, and even a large kit once or twice. It is not uncommon for a young apprentice to treat him like another at their first Gathering, despite him being fully grown. It is also not uncommon for cats to wonder if he's not getting enough to eat, as he is also unusually thin.
Character Personality:
Adderfoot is a twitchy and nervous cat, always looking behind his shoulder and jumping at every shadow. Even the smallest scare can send him racing back to his den, trembling in fear for several hours. Very rarely does he venture outside of the camp, only for traveling to the Moonfield and Star Island and urgent restocking of herbs that he can't get a warrior to do. He is perfectly happy to stay inside all day, sorting his herbs into neat piles and rearranging them over and over again. If another cat should come in and try to talk with him, he will generally try to finish the conversation as quickly as possible. Should they only wish for an ear to listen to them, however, he is perfectly fine with that. While he despises talking more than absolutely necessary, he enjoys hearing stories about whatever topic. When he was younger the elders den used to be his favorite place to go to, just to hear them talk about times long gone. Now that he's older he's stopped going as often as he used to, but he no less enjoys listening to the elders talk when he does stop by. Although the reason most cats don't bother trying to hold a conversation with him anymore is that he always causes awkward silences to happen and getting to know him isn't really worth it, he can get quite lonely. The only problem is that he freezes up around most cats.
Becoming a medicine cat was a good choice for him. Adderfoot walks silently, but he can't properly stalk prey, and couldn't catch a mouse to save his life. Nor is he capable of harming another cat, besides maybe a feeble swipe or two if he was cornered. Large predators leave him almost petrified with fear, only capable of fleeing. Tracking is difficult for him, and he is overpowered so easily that having him as a guard is for anything is pointless. His only physical upsides are that he is quick, capable of outrunning most things even if he can't keep it up for very long, and that he has good reflexes. What he lacks in brawn, however, he makes up for in brain.
Although he has little interest in Starclan, he has an excellent memory, and is capable of quickly memorizing herbs and their uses. Adderfoot is also capable of quickly identifying what the problem with a cat is and what the best solution to that problem is. He keeps everything tidy for quick access and doesn't waste time with silly words or actions that won't do anything. If he needs a cat to do something, he'll tell them with little trouble. His job is done as quickly and efficiently as possible, and he doesn't give up on a cat until there is absolutely nothing that he can think of to do or its body has gone cold. However, this isn't so much from a desire to help the cat due to their bond as clan mates(For the most part, there are a few cats that he's comfortable enough with to actually know them beyond a name, appearance, and a few personality traits) as a desire to be useful and contribute something. If it weren't for that and his sense of duty as a medicine cat, Adderfoot would much rather leave them alone if they weren't dying in front of him. As soon as they are fit enough, he has them go back to normal warrior duties.(Or retire to the elders den, in some cases.) He does not waste time with small talk, only conversing with his patients about the reason that they're there. Outside he may be a nervous wreck, but in his den Adderfoot feels safe and free to act as cold as he wants. This does not hinder him in his job however, and he is decent at his job at the very least. His biggest problem is that he doesn't have a strong connection with Starclan, but they still talk with him. When it comes to prophecies and omens, he prefers to figure them out sooner rather than later.

Character History:
Adderfoot was born as Adderkit, son of Pebbleflower and Tinyface. He had a brother and a sister, Squirrelkit and Dovekit respectively. This was a litter of very small kittens already, but Adderkit was the obvious runt. As they grew older he proved to be much more timid than his siblings, and was often picked on by the other kits. He showed absolutely no interest in becoming a warrior, instead preferring to hide by his mother's side. The other kits in the nursery, sometimes including his own family, mocked him for this. Even when his earliest tormentors moved out he was not left alone, with them still making snide remarks around him and a younger litter discovering that he was easy to tease.
As the three approached six moons he started hanging around in the elders den while Dovekit and Squirrelkit wrestled each other. They had long stopped playing fairly with him, and he had given up on that end. The elders were the only group that he could hang around with, since the warriors and older apprentices mostly ignored him while the younger cats just saw him as a target. They had great stories, but only reinforced the fact that he did not want to become a warrior. One of the elders, Palefang, suggested that he ask the medicine cat if he could become his apprentice. Considering this a great idea, Adderkit gathered all of his nerve and begged Redleaf, the medicine cat, to become his apprentice.
Redleaf was a friendly cat, quite popular in the clan. By the time that Adderkit came up to him, he was growing old and considering looking for an apprentice soon. With no other kits at all suitable in the nursery, and seeing potential in the shy runt, he agreed, and informed the leader of the cat that he wanted for an apprentice.
Finally, the three reached six moons of age, and became apprentices. Dovepaw and Squirrelpaw were training to be warriors, of course, while Adderpaw was assigned to Redleaf. Adderpaw was trained in the ways of the medicine cat, shown all of the herbs on the territory and taught how to interpret omens and prophecies. He quickly learned all that Redleaf could teach him, and after 12 moons of training was given his full name, Adderfoot. Soon after, Redleaf fell prey to a wild fox, leaving Adderfoot as the only medicine cat. Not nearly as popular as his mentor, and filled with grief over his death, Adderfoot has already been struggling to handle his job without any help.
Extra Notes:
Dovepaw and Squirrelpaw became Dovestorm and Squirrelfang, by the way. And if anyone wants to make a cat with Pebble-, Tiny-, Dove-, or Squirrel-, then we can just say that the cat I used it for died. Or I can change their name, either way works for me. I'm probably never using them anyways, they're just there. Palefang's already dead.
