Skystar smiled as she stood out in the wind on the meadow. She suddenly felt energetic, and, smiling at her young instincts, she raced herself across to the light woods near the end of her territory. As she arrived, panting, she spotted the sunrise border patrol. "Hello!" She dipped her head and kept walking." Ahhh." She thought. "What a beautiful home." She padded into the forest, watching carefully for any birds nearby. There! A robin perched on a high branch where it obviously thought it couldn't be reached. She smiled. It was prey now. She judged the distance toward it and jumped up. Direct hit! She grabbed the bird before it could fly away in her mouth and landed on the branch. Steadying herself, she killed the fat bird and jumped down. Landing gracefully, she dug a hole and put it in for later collecting. Then she headed off to hunt for something else.
