Skystar leaped over the log that led to the island and raced up the huge rock-and-mud formation at the center of the island, then waited for the rest of the clans to come in.

Brownstar led Lightningclan in shortly after, head and tail held high as he crossed over the wall. He ignored all of the Skyclan cats as he casually sauntered past them, leaving the rest of his clan to socialize. Only one of his friends from other clans was from Skyclan, and one quick glance around revealed that she was not there tonight. A shame, but he wasn't in the mood for speaking to her tonight, so perhaps it was a good thing. Instead of sparing them any more thought, he moved to where Skystar was waiting.
"Hello," he said simply, settling down beside her. "I take it you are doing well tonight?" --------- Adderfoot easily kept close behind Skystar for most of the trip, but started to fall behind as they reached the island. He waited for everyone else to cross before carefully making the journey himself. It was no better tonight than any other night, but as he moved to rejoin his clanmates sick fear settled in the bit of his stomach. Redleaf had chewed him out after his last visit, and he was determined not to disappoint his mentor again.
Tonight he was going to socialize.
He paced across the Gathering area, anxiously waiting for the other clans to come in. He hadn't properly spoken to Shypool in a while, so perhaps he could find her and meet some of her clanmates. Knowing himself, she probably didn't have many if any friends, close or otherwise, but at least that was a start.
When Lightningclan came in instead of Forestclan(he should have expected this they were constantly second ever since Brownstar came to power) he became even more nervous. His tail flicked back and forth as Adderfoot regarded the other cats. Should he attempt to engage one of them, or just wait for Shypool? The medicine cat was frozen in place with indecision, just at the edge of the group of cats forming his clan.

Sandstar padded into the clearing and joined Brownstar and Skystar. "Hello, how are your clans going?" She asked politely, sitting down beside Skystar to wait.

Skystar nodded to Brownstar. "Yes, and so is our clan. This leafbare has not been as harsh as many others I have experienced." She said casually, worried for Adderfoot. ~~~~~~~~ Blazefoot padded into the clearing after Sandstar, and looekd up at the sky. He glanced behind him, and searched the clan for Heronpaw. ~~~~~~~~ Sage padded into the clearing at the back of Lightningclan and looked around for a fellow medicine cat. Spotting Adderfoot, he padded up and introduced himself. "I'm Sage, Fireclan's new medicine cat. Your..." He paused for a second. "Adderfoot, right?" ~~~~~~~~ Fireshadow padded in behind Brownstar and followed up to the huge rock and dirt wall. Sitting down at the foot, she waited patiently for the gathering to begin.
Ooc: Who is Brownstar's friend? And Hi Sandy! Glad you could make it.

ooc// Eh, I just made up some random cat. Her name shall be Rabbitstep, and maybe someday she will become a real character.
And hey, does the last Fireclan medicine cat have a name, or can I make one up? It would be easier if Adderfoot could refer to him/her by name.
bic// Brownstar nodded to Sandstar as she walked up, then returned his attention to Skystar. "That's good to hear. Lightningclan's been doing well too, although I fear that it will get cold before newleaf. I remember the last leaf-bare like this that we had, it snowed just when we thought we would get through without any problems. Heh, Yewfoot was so mad." He shook his head. "Bah, listen to me! If you told my younger self that someday he would worry about stuff like that, he would claw your ears off!" -------- Heronpaw had been walking with the other apprentices, chatting about the Gathering they were going to. This was the first Gathering since he had become an apprentice, and he was walking with an extra spring in his step. By the time they reached the log, he was so excited for it that he practically sprinted across. In the process he almost slipped, but he was only a little more subdued when he made it to the other side. He walked into the clearing, and stopped.
There were so many cats! But... he didn't know any of them. Most likely the warriors wouldn't appreciate him approaching them, but he didn't know where he could find any of the apprentices from the other clans. All of his friends had already spread out, too. Thinking about it, he should probably go and ask Blazefoot to show him around.
Soon spotting his mentor, Heronpaw bounded over to him, skidding to a halt beside the older cat. "Hey, Blazefoot!" he greeted with cheer. -------- Adderfoot jumped when Sage addressed him. "A-Ah, y-yes, that's right," he started with a stutter, but soon recovered. Embarrassed, he ran one foot over his ear. Sage looked somewhat familiar, although he hadn't bothered to talk to any of the others at the last half-moon meeting. Then again, he could always be mistaking him for another cat. "Were you at the last Moonfield meeting? I'm glad to hear that Fireclan finally has another medicine cat, we were starting to worry that we would have to train one ourselves..." Suddenly he stiffened, thoughts catching up on Sage's name. "Wait, Sage? Don't you have a proper name?" Fireclan wouldn't disrespect their medicine cat by not giving him a name, would they? Despite the fact that he didn't like the other clans as a general rule, he would think that they wouldn't be so... profane!

Sage smiled. "I refused to let them change my name. I don't really like clan names, no offense."

Adderfoot narrowed his eyes in thought. "Ah, it's fine, I don't like loner names myself. Too... Vague, I guess? But why are you in a clan if you aren't going to respect our traditions?" Realizing what he said, he flinched back. Ducking his head down, he quickly continued. "B-But of course there's no pressure for you to answer if you don't want to, I was just curious, sorry..."

Shypool padded up to meet Adderfoot. She padded up to to greet him Finally! "HI Aderfoot!".She greeted him with a lick on the ear, her blue eyes sparkling.Adderrfoot was the one cat she could tell anything! She barely had any friends, so when she met him, she finally felt happy. She felt as happy as her medicine cat ceremony every time she saw him.

Adderfoot flinched when he felt Shypool lick him, too focused on his conversation with Sage to notice her approaching. As soon as he noticed who she was, however, he relaxed. "O-Oh!" he said, turning to her. "Shypool! I didn't see you, sorry..." The medicine cat turned back to Sage. "I don't know if you've met him, but this here is Sage. He's the new Fireclan medicine cat. Apparently he doesn't like clan names, so he refused to change his loner name." Now that Shypool had joined him, he felt much more at ease. She understood him in a way that pretty much no other cat did, since they were close to the same. Not counting Redleaf, since he was more of a fatherly teacher than a friend, she was pretty much his only friend. Which was kind of sad, now that he thought about it.

Sage smiled. "No, it's ok." Turning to Shypool, he greeted her with a purr. "Hello, I'm Sage. Nice to meet you." He turned back to Adderfoot with a glint in his eye. "That's the only one I don't follow. I respect clan traditions very much, but my mother gave me that name, and now it's all I have left of her. I couldn't bring myself to break that tie." Sage pressed his lips together. "I guess I joined the clan mostly out of sympathy, because they didn't have any medicine cat like your clans did. I grew to respect clans after awhile living there with all the others in my clan."

"I understand. My mom named me Night, but, my mom died." she frowned."She haunts me!" she looked at her paws, and remembered the warm auroma of her mother."We ran to the forest, when my best friend suddenly dissappeared," she didn't show emotion."Forestclan must've found me, I don't remember," she meowed, as if trying to hide her words.Sadness swept over her, she scooted closer to Adderfoot, trying to regain happiness, or at least recieve some comfort.Adderfoot was like a sibling, and she understood him, and he understood her.She regained her self esteem. And forced a smile."I understand and all, but, Forestclan found and saved me, I think, they are family,And I love them," she looked confused and happy at the same time.

Adderfoot looked over to Shypool, concerned. She was so sad so much, and he just wanted to confront her mother's spirit himself sometimes. Since he obviously couldn't do that, he settled for the next best thing, gently touching her back with his tail and nuzzling her ear for a quick second. He smiled wryly when he looked back at Sage. "I'm sorry to hear that," he said honestly. "I'd claim to understand, but honestly if I had the chance to change my name, I'd probably take it. My mother wasn't bad, but... I'm pretty sure that she's still ashamed of me when she has my siblings to compare me to. It doesn't help that I wanted to become a medicine cat for the wrong reasons, much as I love the position. But then, at least I had Redleaf." He shook his head quickly, deciding to change the subject before his thoughts started going down that path. "But anyways, you didn't have to join Fireclan, you know. If you hadn't then Starclan would have just chosen a cat for us to mentor ourselves. As it is, we still need to train you. There's a lot of herbs you can't find on Fireclan territory, so you'll need to know who you need to ask for what and probably what they're used for, although that won't be too hard, but then there's all the Starclan stuff, so you'll need to know about the Moonfield and what you're supposed to do and when to take your leader there, and how to interpret prophecies that they give you and when to tell your leader about those prophecies, and I suppose you haven't had to identify and interpret signs before, so you'll definitely need to know that, and what to do when those signs were false alarms, and honestly it's all really hard and confusing and even the best of us make mistakes all the time. And honestly, I know that Redleaf would probably be much better at explaining this than me, but he's dead and I have no clue if he would be willing to appear to you or not." The medicine cat looked down sheepishly. "Sorry, that's a lot, isn't it? We can talk about it at the next Moonfield meeting. Have they told you how to get there?"

Shypool felt conforted now, and listened to what he said. She laughed."Confusing, right?" she giggled."It took me forever, so don't worry, we understand,"."If you ever need anything, you are welcome to ask us, it's like we are all a medicine cat clan," she said, so only they could hear."But remember, catnip is only medicine! It can make a cat, crazy shall we say.Keep it hidden, even though it's halfly funny," she said in a giggle and purr like voice. She was thinking of her mother now, and snuck away. She hid just beyond the outline of trees. She looked out at the lake, when a familiar black thing appeared, it was runnin towards her.It was her mother. She hissed and silently raced back into the clearing. She sat near them, but more towards the outline, her mother kept following. She hissed again, hoping her mother would take a hint, she didn't.Shypool ran next to Adderfoot and Sage. She was about to melt into tears."I don't know if you can see her," she pointed with her tail,"But she is there!" Shypool said, in a trembling voice. She dug her face into Adderfoot's fur, hoping for him to see it."I don't know how to get it through to her, but i want this to be my new life!".The image still racing towards her.

Sage nodded, a little confused with Adderfoot's fast talkintg. "Yes, they've shown me where the Moonfield is. Actually, I have been sent a sign from Starclan; only then I didn't know it was a sign. I was still a loner then, but it's what led me to clans. I somehow get the feeling that I belong here, that Starclan wants me here. I've been working with herbs all my life, but honestly I still don't think I know them all. I've ranged all over the four territories to pick herbs to keep, but I think it would be good to hear about some more. And hey, maybe I know a few you don't!" He grinned, then watched as Shypool padded away. "Um.. Where's she going?" His eyes followed her as she came running back. After listening to Shypool, Sage's eyes followed the tip of Shypool's tail. "I see her. Maybe next half moon we can try to talk to her. Who knows, even though she's a rogue maybe she went to Starclan." He got up. "I'll see if I can get through to her now." He padded towards the image slowly, trying to make out the cat's details.

Shypool watched as Sage walked over to her dead mother.Shypool froze as she watched.Shypool saw her mother settle down when Sage approached her.She watched, her mothers eyes stuck on Sage."Adderfoot, should we go too?Do you think she'll attack?I'm supposed to be an expert on this kind of stuff!I'm supposed to know!Should we sit and talk about it?".She looked at her mother. Her mother was a fair looking cat.She had blue eyes, like Shypool. She also had all black fur.She had fairly short and clean fur.Her mother looked at her now.Her icy blue eyes seeped into her.Her mother's expression was sad and longing, but Shypool could barely see.If her mother left her alone, she could live a normal life!

Adderfoot sighed in relief. "That's good to hear. Well, it's actually really bad that you've gotten through all the territories, unless you didn't spend much time, but extremely good that you have a connection with Starclan. I was worried that you wouldn't believe, to be honest." He chuckled, but then grew grave as Sage mentioned Shypool. "She's probably thinking. I find that it's best to leave her alone when she wants to be."
When she ran back, however, he immediately grew agitated. His fur fluffed out as he protectively put his head over hers. Just hearing that alone was enough to make him shiver, and when Sage ran to go confront the spirit he was about to burst into tears himself. As the Fireclan spoke, he lifted his head in alarm. "Don't-!" he called, but then the medicine cat was gone to confront Shypool's mother. Oh Starclan, he could see her. He glanced back at the rocks that the leaders were on, but they appeared to still be talking with each other. What about, he had no idea. Reluctantly he tore his attention back to Shypool and the situation at hand. "No, shoosh, it's not your fault, no one can expect you to know what to do, your mother shouldn't be doing this to you." Adderfoot murmured gently to her. He gulped, starting to shake as he stood up slowly. "We need to end this, but n-now's not a good time. You're upset, and I'm sorry but I-I would be nothing but a burden to you, and Sage doesn't know enough about the situation." He took a slow and uncertain step towards her mother. Ugh, he was such a coward. All that Shypool had to do was mention her problems and he was making excuses to avoid confronting it. He was a terrible creature. Why Shypool put up with him and his selfish problems, he often wasn't sure. "B-But we do need to stop this, f-for the m-moment at least."

Ripplerain shuffled in her spot, making sure the other cats didn't notice her. She was young, and she thought they might disrespect her because of that. Her tail twitched as she thought of her friends at the camp. She wished this would be over soon. She didn't know anyone, and she looked too much like an apprentice to get much attention. She sighed, and her ice blue eyes glanced around at the other cats talking.
Ooc: I forgot to mention her eyes, sorry.

Ooc: That's ok. Ic: Noticing a new face, Fireshadow smile. She got up from her position to greet the nervous she-cat. Padding over, she nodded to Ripplerain. "Hello, I'm Fireshadow, Lightningclan's deputy. What's your name?" ~~~~~ Blazefoot smiled at Heronpaw. "You sure look excited. C'mon, I'll introduce you to a few other apprentices and their mentors."

Startled, Ripplerain quickly looked up. "Oh, uh- I'm Ripplerain, a new warrior. I just finished my silent vigil," she said, and looked away. Ripplerain was nervous around new people, especially in different clans. "I'm in Skyclan." ~~~~~~ Lostheart looked around the camp, happy that the clans went together so well. She pretended to stroke her bad ear so the other cats wouldn't notice.
