Skystar stood and stretched, looking through the moss covering the entrance to her den as if waiting for someone to come in. She glanced up, thinking she heard something. But no, it was just the wind rustling the moss. She circled slowly and then padded out of her den, yawning as she woke up for the morning. She looked out at the clan. So silent and still. Nothing moved except for the sunrise patrol. She smiled. She had always loved the early morning, watching the sun rise while the camp was quiet, or running along the meadow, chasing after a friend to get to the first bird. She loved the fresh, quiet, peace of the early morning. This was where she was ruler. No matter a warrior or new leader, she loved this place in the early mornings. It was always just her and the birds. What a perfect time to start as leader.
